Boosting Income Multiples With Additional Jobs
February 2, 20261 min readtenant2owner Team
This is the 3rd of the ‘Boosting Income Multiples’ series, where we look at other income sources to increase buying power and capacity.
Getting a second job where you are an employee (paid via PAYE with tax deducted automatically) is a safe bet as lenders prefer this over freelance work because it is stable.
Opportunities exist in Retail & Hospitality:
Supermarket shifts, bar work, waiting tables, hotel reception.
Why it works: Zero setup cost. You get a payslip every month.
The Hurdle: You typically need to hold this second job for 3 to 6 months before a lender will include it in your calculations.
Opportunities also exist Admin & Support:
Virtual assistant (employed), data entry, customer support.
Why it works: Often remote/flexible, making it easier to sustain alongside a main job.
